Has anyone used or read the book? It has great reviews and I know they make the happiest baby on the block for infants. What do yall think about the book? Did it help at all?
Loved HBOTB so I tried the toddler version. It worked once or twice. Now it makes him more angry. I would try it, if it works great. If not we try ignoring until he calms down.

OMG, we noticed this too! I got the video from the library but I haven't watched it yet. I was wondering if I was doing it wrong or something b/c us commiserating with him really ticks DS off for some reason.
It tells you to treat your LO like a caveman. When they whine about something you are supposed to repeat it back to them. "Jason wants candy, Jason wants candy" and get all caveman like. It works because they are surprised that you are acknowledging them as opposed to redirecting or ignoring. It's just makes you feel a little weird when you are doing it.

Sure does! It also worked for me like the first day or so then it just made her madder like PP said. I ended up getting "Parenting your strong willed child" and that was better. She is still slightly young for his techniques BUT it helped ME deal with her so in the end it worked. I would say her tantrums have been like 75% less and this is a miracle considering it felt like she flipped out all day!
