TTC after 35

Dear Diary :P

Sorry for the bloggy post...up at 4am today to get started baking some bread for some tea sandwiches I'm making for some good friends' baby shower today. Hoping to go back to bed after I get the dough to the 4-hour rise. ;)

This has been my longest LP yet, yesterday was 14 days, with a little temp drop, but this am it tanked. Had one hpt left and just used it to get it out of the house, kwim? Bfn, no surprise there. Just need that ruddy hoor to get here so I can get on with things. HSG is this week. H's SA results are pending, and I should hear about my blood work this week too.

I don't feel like I've been too affected by friends who are pregnant/seeing pregnant women or babies, so I truly hope this holds true today at this shower. These are really close friends, I've known the H for close to 20 years, the wife was the find of a lifetime for him, and they lost a pregnancy at 16 weeks last year. The wife is about 10 months younger than I am, so she is not a spring chicken either, and will be 39 when she delivers. This is truly a happy time and I can't wait to meet their little fella, who will be here in about 6 weeks. But this is all just roiling around my head here in the wee hours and I had to spit it out, hopefully to avoid morphing into some bitter mess later today. You're welcome!!! :P

  • Glad you were able to get this out before going to the shower, I hope it went well.  We certainly do carry around a lot of feelings at one time, from being happy for other people to being heartbroken about our own situation.  It sounds like you are doing a great job of keeping it all in balance.  Good for you!  Sorry about the bfn (boo) and good luck with the next step!

  • Thanks, y'all! The shower went well, and my sandwiches disappeared! Saw lots of good friends, it was a really nice afternoon. Talked to a good friend who shared she was having a LEEP this wk and was nervous and wanted to talk w/ me since I'm an RN. She didn't know I'd had one a few yrs ago and so I was able to tell her about it, she was so relieved. Helped to help someone else a bit, I guess. I told her about my HSG for this wk and we wished ourselves a Happy Gynecological Procedures Week. Hee.
    Thanks for the kind thoughts!
