activity mat

hi, 

i had an activity mat for my LO. it was an infantino jungle mat- small and portable but it broke. im debating a new one. LO will be 6 months next week. i see a ton that are pretty expensive. im ideally looking for one that will zip up for fold away easily to save on space but the only ones i see are the ones that have already broke on me. any suggestions? also how long do babies use these?

I think this one or something similar with the foot piano is on sale at target right now, so check that out!

We use a skip hop activity mat but it doesn't fold or zip to store well. I find that she doesn't like laying in it as much as I would expect, and daycare says the same thing about their baby gym. I ended up getting the baby einstein jumperoo 2 weeks ago, and we put a blanket around her trunk for extra support since she's still pretty little... But she LOVES it! I guess she just wants to be upright where she can see everything.

My DD used her mat for about 3 months and is not interested anymore. She has to be upright while playing.

I would look into consignment sales or any used toy stores. I'm not sure how long they use them but this way you wouldn't be puting out a lot of money for one.

thanks for the ideas. i was looking at the fp one last night. do you know if it folds up easily for storage?

My daughter loves this one.  she's busy for a minimum of 30 min.  best toy i have bought yet!!

We have the FP Rainforest melodies and light gym, and DS loves it.  It folds up nicely and takes up little storage space.

OTOH, you said your LO is 6 months?  Not sure how much use he'll get out of it. I started DS on the rainforest gym when he was 2 wks old, and I think he'll probably be bored by the time he's 5-6 months.
