2nd Trimester

anyone else have this problem???

Since about 8 weeks when I have a bowel movement there is sometimes red blood in the toilet and when I wipe both sides its red blood. I have been numerous times to get an ultrasound and everything checks out fine. I am now almost 13 weeks and still have it. I am not sure if the blood is coming from the back and just dribbling to the front or what. The Dr. say they have no idea why I am having this problem because everything looks fine. I believe it is caused from hemorrhoids, but just trying to figure out why when I wipe the front the blood is there also. Anyone else have this problem???? if it ended in a miscarriage...please don't comment. everything with baby is fine. just went to the dr and heard heartbeat and I have been through a miscarriage so I know how it feels physically and emotionally and I really don't want to hear about anyone's bad experience. Just would like to know if the anyone else has experienced this and what their dr told them. Thanks!

Re: anyone else have this problem???

  • I haven't had this during pg, but I had it a couple times pre-pg.  It turned out to be a fissure...basically it was just a tear that was probably caused by constipation.  It makes sense that it would be common during pregnancy because constipation is also very common during pg.  My dr told me to take a stool softener and it did help a lot.  The problem went away within a few days.  I can also see how it might be a hemmorhoid, of which I have no experience...so if you think that's what it is, talk to your dr!   I know those are very common during pg too.

  • It is probably hemmhroids. When it happens, you should use a clean tissue to check that it is not vaginal bleeding.
  • I've had bleeding on and off. It's from behind. I'm not sure if it could be a tear or a hemeroid. I have an appointment this week. I don't think its a big deal since its only a drop or two. And it doesn't happen every day.
