Did your LOs Zantac lose its effectiveness?

My trio has been on Zantac 3x day since December. We up the dose with weight increases. We updated last a month ago. Reflux is getting bad in my house again. Do I call the pedi and ask for a larger dose? Or move on to Prevacid? If your LObwas on Zantac, how long did it work for?

TIA!

  • DS didn't wean off Zantac until 8 months, but if I'm rememberly correctly, somewhere in between 4 and 6 months is natural point for reflux to get worse before it gets better because there is a huge amount of increase in core strength.   We increased dosages as DS grew, but it never really reduced the amount of spit up, just kept it from causing him pain.

    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • We kept upping my twins' Zantac dose as they gained weight - probably over about six months. Eventually one of them resolved at six months, but the other was still having trouble at the max Zantac dose, so we went to Prilosec once a day for about three or four months before it completely resolved for my other twin.
