For the past 2 weeks there have been several occasions where my DD has cried hysterically while I was gone. Several times were when the nanny was looking after her and a few with my mother. She has been around both for quite some time. With the nanny I was actually around the house (but out of sight) when it happened twice. I needed to leave for an appt so I came down and she stopped crying when she saw me. All of the other times I have been gone. There does not seem to be a pattern with the time of day or whether she has had bottles or not (because sometimes I am not gone very long). The only new thing that has been happening is she fights naps so it's possible it is just a coincidence and she is just overtired or gassy (which is not typical for her). It seems too young to have it, but she has literally never cried like that with me.

I was concerned about the same thing! I'm a FTM and our 4 month old makes the saddest face when I pass him off to his grandma or to a friend of mine. Even one he knows. It's embarrassing! I guess it's just a normal developmental stage for them. If I were my son, I wouldn't want my mother holding me either! Haha!
