Ok, let's face it. The train phase has begun. At least at my house. I bought a bunch of motorized trains and plastic track for L from once upon a child, but I'm open to other suggestions.
So who has a train table and how do you feel about it?
I'm thinking birthday...or whenever he needs some spoiling.
Re: Train Tables
I do not have one, but we are looking into them! Bo gets in trouble at the library for "dismantling the train tracks" said by the grumpy librarian! Isn't that what he is to do? take it apart and then put it make together?
That said, I like this one; I know a train table and all of the goodies that go with it can get expensive! If we had our own he could dismantle the tracks all he wants!

Ohhh I want one that you can cover and make a play table for puzzles and whatnot.. and has storage underneath.
Can you cover this one ^^^^?
show me the coverable one.
Ive seen the trundle bed/train table on Pinterest, but his room is too small for that.
I am so in love with this idea!
We have the plastic tracks with the metal Thomas trains. They are easy for a four year old, but not so much my 17 month old! I'm happy to know all the wood ones are interchangeable.
I like the TRU one because the pieces can all be removed, and platform flipped over for a plain green surface PERFECT for the Lego or dollhouse stages. She loves putting her stuff in the drawer too. It's not an heirloom but its perfect for us. We love it.
We bought an Imaginarium one for my oldest when he was around 1 or 1.5. He LOVED trains then and did for years and years. Over the years, we collected the Thomas character trains, a water tower, bridges, etc. Also it was fun to get more junctions and also those wavy pieces that make it easier to connect the tracks. You have to have those...and you'll want them because you'll be the one building the tracks for a while.
There were periods of time when kept the train table in different parts of the house. Sometimes we've used it for legos and dolls and hotwheels and coloring. We put it in the tv room and the kids ate there during our family superbowl party this year
We have a large, shallow tub of tracks and trains that I put out for B now on the carpet in the room where he plays. He likes when the kids will build him a track and he runs the trains along. And meanwhile, the table is in the big kids' play area an dis being used for puzzles and superheroes. There are squinkies in the drawers (hiding from B!)
It's a great investment you'll never regret! Very versatile for years of fun!
