I went for my 37 week appointment yesterday for a growth ultrasound and a normal checkup. Baby girl is measuring at 38 weeks but everything was normal. Then when they did my internal we were both surprised that I am 3 cm dilated. Last week I was closed and the cervix was still really high. Ob said to be prepared to go into labor at anytime since it progressed so quickly and it's unusual for a ftm to be this dilated this early.
After my appointment I went to work and had to use the bathroom. Afterword I saw some brownish snot in the toilet. I'm assuming this was part of my mucus plug but not the whole thing because there wasn't much. Then it happened again today after I went to the bathroom. This time it was yellowish clear but there was a LOT. So I'm guessing that was the rest of it.
Now I keep getting sharp shooting pains coming up from where my cervix is. No cramping though. And I dont think I've had any contractions yet. I feel my stomach get tight/hard sometimes but it's when baby is moving so I think it's just her stretching my stomach. The pains aren't consistent and they don't last very long. Is this just lightening croch or something else?
Re: Shooting pains
this. I have had increase in discharge like you described after all three of my internals. I'm 3 cm too and my Dr made the same kind of comment about that being unusual for a FTM. However as everyone will tell you it really doesn't mean much, just less progress that you have to make in active labor.
