So I hada recurrent loss panel run days after I lost my second baby and they said all 11 tests came back within normal range, but one did not. My ANA came back abnormal which could possibly lead to a diagnosis for lupus. I am wanting any and all information because I am just trying to take this new information in.
Re: ANA and Lupus?
First, I am so sorry for your losses. Second, a positive ANA doesn't always mean lupus. It could point to something autoimmune though.
I was dx with lupus this summer prior to my loss after suffering from headaches, unexplained fever and fatigue.
My ANA was elevated and they did a full panel workup and I have the lupus markers.
With my loss, it looks like it was likely chromosomal abnormality and nothing related to the lupus. I am not sure how far along you were but the antiphosolipid antibody if you have it (related to the ANA and lupus) could be a cause to later pregnancy loss as it interferes with blood flow to the placenta. I am antiphospholipid - but they will test for that if the other results for lupus come back +.
Hope that helps. PM if you have other questions.
