  • How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?

38 weeks.  I think she's a watermelon and has been for awhile.

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?

An NST and appt. on Monday and another of each the next Monday.  Hoping we'll hit the biggest milestone of all ASAP and she will decide to join us on the outside already!

QOTW: Did you have the nursery complete before your loss? If so, will you use the same nursery or change it?

Since I was only 18 weeks along with Alice, we didn't have anything ready in the nursery.  In fact, we hadn't even decided for sure which room we were going to use as the nursery.  Before B died we had planned on the larger room which I was using for my office since we figured we'd need more room for twins.  We are now using the smaller room for Ada.  Our theme is robots/science.  We had been thinking space/stars for Alice and B, so on a similar theme, but different.

We had received numerous gifts of different sorts, and we had bought some used baby clothing at mom-to-mom sales.  We kept all of that and are using it for Ada.  We hadn't really made any personalized purchases for Alice or B when they died, except for these very cute baby blankets with stars on them we got shortly before B died.  Those are the only things we are not reusing for Ada.  We actually used them for two feral kittens we adopted right around Alice and B's due date.  It somehow felt fitting to use those blankets for the kittens--they were very therapeutic for us at the time.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

Just getting a little crazy waiting for Ada to decide to make her entrance.  I was contracting, dilating, and effacing back at 29 weeks, got the steroid shots, went on modified activity, etc.  So we really didn't expect that we'd get to 38 weeks and still be waiting for Ada!  Don't get me wrong, I'm so thankful we have made it to term.  But since we've been thinking she could come any day for the past 8 weeks and I'm now full term, it's getting really, really hard to wait any longer.  My wife is starting to go a little crazy with nesting and stressing about organizing the house and has been extra cranky lately.  I've been alternating between exhausted, crabby, weeping for no reason, and eating any junk food in sight.

BFP #1 9/21/11. EDD 6/4/12.  Twins discovered at 8 weeks. Twin B lost at 14 weeks due to megacystis.  Alice Joe born and lost 1/5/12 at 18.5 weeks due to pre-term labor.

    BFP #2 7/11/12.  EDD 3/23/13.  Ada Alice born 3/20/13.
