AMH - what's "normal"

My results are 1.5 - I'm approaching 32.  They posted in our web portal, though I've not talked to my RE yet.  I believe he mentioned that he liked to see the level at 2+.

Re: AMH - what's "normal"

  • My RE Said that they like to see AMH above 1, mine is 3.97. They also said that my FSH is good - it's 10.1 - from what i read online, it isn't good for me only being 28.

  • I'd steer clear of reading anything online and wait to talk to your Dr. My AMH level is at 1.79 and my fsh is 9.9. Every Dr. uses a different scale and most couple the two numbers together. What my numbers online say are downright scary, but my Dr. thinks our prognosis is bright. Not fantastic, considering I'm only 24, but at this point in time with a little help they sincerely hope and think we will ultimately have success. So, I wouldn't worry too much about what is "normal" until you talk to your Dr.

Sorry about your DX. It really stinks!

  • I am also approaching 32, back in August my amh levels were .75 and my re said he liked hem to be at least 1.5 at age 31.   I do think it depends on other factors and your re though. Hope this helps!

  • I'm 34 and my amh is .25 and my fsh fluctuates between 9 and 15. This is an extraordinarily low amh and I am in the middle if my first ivf cycle. But they did get 7 eggs, two were implanted Saturday and 2 made it to freeze so even with low I got good results and i have far mire hope then i did. FYI that was on max doses of everything.

  • I would kill for a 1.5!  Ha!  Mine was .68 (I am 29) which I have been told is very low for my age but this is not a new dx for me.  It was .70 when I was only 27.  I'm sure your RE will take into account all of your other bloodwork (FSH, Estradiol, etc) as well as your age and AFC, but if I were you I would definitely not be worried about your AMH number.  Mine always said he likes to see anything above a 1.
