C-sections

Advice Please

Okay ladies I was just about to order the AbdoMend C-Section recovery belt for $80 + shipping and handling.  With my second the hospital gave me a belt that worked good but really didn't fit like it should because I'm plus size and one size fits most does not fit me.  So would you spend the extra $95 on a belt that you new would fit if you had the money or would you chance the hospital not giving you one at all or giving you one that didn't fit properly?  Thanks in advance:-)  I think I might have answered my own question lol...

Re: Advice Please

  • To me it'd be a waste of money. However, I was not offered a belt or anything of the sort with LO1 and I think I wound up fine.
"What are you having?" "Well the radiologist says its a healthy little human baby. I'm a little disappointed, because I really wanted a puppy." LOL
  • I agree with the pp, it seems like a bit of a waste of money. The bandage they put to help keep it sealed stays on for 3 or so days  and I found that it worked better then anything . I'm also plus size and I can tell you anything else around or against my stomach like that post op would have driven me mad, I found underwear to be rather annoying and uncomfortable right after. But either way GOOD LUCK!

  • I would get the belt if you can afford it.  I wore my binder thing a lot and it helped SO much.  I hated feeling like my guts were about to spill out when I didn't have it on!

    Good luck!

  • I had a c section last Thursday and I'm wearing the binder the hospital have me. For me it's been a life saver. I couldn't walk the halls without it. If you know it will fit better and you can afford it I would buy it.

  • I also loved having the binder. I used the one the hospital gave me, but kind of wish that I had bought my own. The one they gave me was a bit to big for me and they didn't have any smaller sizes. I think its totally worth it to buy one if you can afford it and it will help you be more comfortable!!

  • The one I got from the hospital was like an Ace bandage with velcro and I found it very uncomfortable.  I will probably buy a neoprene one like the Belly Bandit for the next one.
