LO just turned 6 month last week and we started solids for the first time. The first couple of days he was only eating a few spoonfuls but by Tuesday he was eating an entire jar of food at one sitting and then taking some formula on top of that! I'm just wondering if this is too much? The Dr never really gave us any guidelines for how much other than to give him as much as he wants in the beginning.
He's still eating anywhere from 25-30 oz of formula each day plus 2 full jars of food. I know the amount of food correlates to how much they weigh but I'm curious if there's such a thing as "too much".
Can you share how old your LO is, how much they weigh, and the ratio of formula to solids?
TIA!
Re: Solids at 6 months - how much?
First, your son is adorable!!
Our Dr. didn't specify either, but this website came in handy www.wholesomebabyfood.com
We started with 2 oz of food at first, that didn't last long because he loved solids from the beginning! At 6 months, he was getting 4 oz in the morning, 30 minutes after his morning bottle, and 4 oz in the evening (5:30pm)
He's still getting this, plus finger foods.

My DS is 7 months old tomorrow! He has 35oz of formula during the day, sleeps straight through the night. In the morning he has 1-2 Tbsps of oatmeal cereal with a container of fruit - the rectangle Gerber ones. At dinner he has 1 container of the 2nd foods - the dinners (chicken & veggie or vegetable beef for example) and half a container of a different veggie. And then he practices finger foods with some puffs and has some frozen fruit in the mesh feeder - just to keep him busy while we eat dinner.
He weighs about 17lbs now. At his 6 month check up he weighed 16lbs 10oz.
Baby #2!
