How long did/do your consider the flu to be contagious for? I was going for the 24 hour fever free rule, but then saw on the CDC website that kids could be contagious for 7 days...geeze that's a long time to keep him contained. He has yet to be fever free for 24 hours, so obviously I am keeping him home. His pedi said to expect him to be sick for 5 days.
I'm just curious what others did when their kid had the flu.
Re: Flu?
DS fever has hovered around 100.5 today, but he was really lethargic. He's not dehydrated, I just think its taking a toll on his energy. He's been on Tamiflu since day 1, but he has both strains of the flu. I hope tomorrow isn't bad.
My DS had both strains as well. The first time it took him over a week to be ready for preschool and daycare. The second time we followed the 24 hour fever free rule. Once again, though, he wasn't feeling good enough until that point to want to do anything anyway.
We'll be getting flu shots early next year!!!

DS got his flu shot at the beginning of the season...sucks that I did everything I could and he still got sick!
The flu sucks! DS is usually an extremely active little guy, however the past few days all he does is lay around. He tries to act wild, but quickly lays back down. It breaks my heart to see him lay around.
