How many of you are working in a field that does not relate at all to your degree and how did you get there?
I find this is always an interesting question because there is always someone out there who a criminal justice major who now conducts works in a biology lab, and I love learning how that happens (either intentionally or accidentally).

I somewhat use my degree - the business aspect of it but not the marketing. I got into this field because it is what my H did - he started right after we started dating. It affords so much flexibility that it is worth it and I'm learning more and more and really starting to enjoy it - something I didn't expect.
He wants me to go into law school but that isn't something I'm really interested in at this time, but he is right in saying it would be a huge asset if we want to own our own business in our industry one day. So I said I would consider it.
I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design and I am a Legislative Assistant for a State Rep. Um yeeeaaaa way different.
I worked in the Interior Design field for a few years out of college. When the economy tanked so did my firm. I applied all over but it wasn't a field that was expanding so I needed to take what I could get. Two months later my boss got elected... he is like a brother to me and offered me the secretary position in his office even though I had no experience. From there I moved up to my LA position, and here I am 5 years later and will never leave because of my amazing health insurance, flexible hours, and ridiculous amount of PTO. Those things are more important to me as a mommy now!
