Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What do you put in your mesh feeder---if you use one?

Hi Ladies,

Jumping over a few days early...Cannot believe DS will be 9 months next week!

What do you put in your mesh feeder if you use one with LO? I have tried bananas and a carrot. The banana went ok, the carrot was raw and I put it in the feeder so he could chew on it more than eat it, but as I am trying to get him to eat foods with more texture i am wondering what you put in there as I am drawing a blank...also please specify if it is raw, cooked, or frozen.

Also, any tips on cleaning that thing it is a huge pain in the butt!

TIA!

  • Avocado, peaches, pears, strawberries, watermelon, all raw.  I've heard of people using frozen fruit and ice cubes during teething but I've never tried it.

  • My good friend puts strawberries in it for her LO.  My Dr. said do not use it for any reason.  She said "you want your child to learn to chew, not suck on foods".  Not saying she is right, just saying...
  • I've only used it a couple of times.  I've only tried frozen pears, which one of them seems to love.  I just haven't gotten around to trying other things yet.
