Who has had one? When did you start planning it? Where did you have it? Share all the details please...

It's something we're looking at doing but I'm not sure if we should or not. I love any excuse for a big family get-together! DS is due in mid June (I'm expecting him to come early though) and we were thinking a BBQ, most likely catered and most likely in a pavilion at one of the local parks. Here's my main reservation, on July 4th my grandmother normally has a small group of my mom's side of the family over for a BBQ and MIL does the same for her side, sometimes my dad's side does a little something too but not always. I don't feel like we would be ready to do a MTBP until mid-July, so a good chunk of people will have already technically met DS.... so should we not do one at all, or should we do one earlier (say end of June, if he does come in like the first week) or just do it mid-July? Also, between July 4th and Labor day there will be so many BBQs or informal get-togethers that pretty much everyone will have met DS at one point or another without a MTBP.

So I guess, after kind of talking through it... we probably shouldn't have one huh?
