So I just got home from my first appointment and LOVE my new DR. He was so great! I got some amazing news and a small bit of disappointing news.
The disappointing news first: Today was supposed to be the first day of week 7 for me but according to the ultra sound I am only 5 weeks 5 days. That's not the worst news as I was basically expecting this result, however I was really looking forward to seeing the heartbeat and it was simply too early. Luckily I get to go back in 2 weeks in hopes to see the heartbeat.
The good news: I got pregnant last June and miscarried in August. (No that is not the good news - just back story!) When I went in for my ultra sound I had the exact same issue, they thought I was 7 weeks but looked about 5 weeks. The good news is the difference in the ultra sound image. Last time all I got to see was a tiny empty sack. This time around I got to see a much larger sack, the yolk and a tiny little dot that is my baby. The Dr says every thing looks great and it makes me so happy to know that baby is doing well!
Now I just have to try and be patient for my next US. I want nothing more than to see my healthy baby's heartbeat!
On another note, the Dr says my new due date is likely Nov 1st, so now I am torn between October and November forms! Haha.
So excited!
Re: Just got home from my first appointment/ U/S
congrats! That must be such a relief. I remember waiting so long to listen to the heart beat. They wouldn't even try it until 12 weeks because it can be scary and disappointing to listen for it and not find it.
Do you know for sure about your cycles? Maybe you were just off on your conception date or had a wonky month.
Is this on the wrong board?
Either way, you should stay with October moms because everyone knows they are the best!
Thanks for the well wishes! I can't imagine having to wait 12 whole weeks!!
I was originally a Sept mom, but then my due date changed to October 1st. I stayed with October (and ended up being 9 days late anyway) but could definitely still relate to both the September and October moms.
Good luck!
Well, congratulations, anyway. It will be so great to see your baby again in two weeks.
Burned by the Bear
Congratulations regardless. October moms really are the best.
I completely agree with this. Sarahkw, you should continue to just post here and keep us updated like Colleen said.
So what was the scariest part of being pregnant?
I think I'm most terrified of the actual delivery.
lol
Isn't that the truth.. If I had only known..
