Clara's surprise homebirth

Clara June was born on the 25th at home.  My DH caught her, my 4 year old watched as much as he could (DH kept sending him away, but he was determined.  He loved it and isn't scarred for life Wink) and my 2 year old slept through the whole thing.  Clara weighed in as my smallest baby at 7 lbs even and 19 inches long (I was expecting a 9 pounder based on her brothers!).  We were definitely not planning a home birth, but all things considered, it turned out wonderfully.

    Beautiful picture. It sounds like she is as determined as her brother, entering the world that fast! Did you have any warning signs at all?

    Wow, congrats! Even though I am definitely not planning a home birth, sometimes I think it would work out for the best because we wouldn't be scrambling to find care for DS, lol. Love the name Clara. :)

    Congrats! Would you mind sharing the story of what happened? I want to labor at home for as long as possible, but worry about how to know when it's really time to go to te hospital!

    Thats amazing !!  Good thing your DH has a good head on his shoulders !  I think as a FTM we would have been in a mess !!  Congrats .. beautiful family !!!
