Housekeeping help?

Does anyone here hire housekeepers to come clean your home? If so how often do they come? How much do they usually charge per hour? How did you find them? Anything else I should know?

I have been kicking this around in the back of my head for 17 mos now. I am considering looking into a cleaning/housekeeping service to come  maybe 1 or 2 times per month just to give us more free time. With 3 dogs and a toddler we always have a lot of housework every weekend and it sucks up a full day. It would be nice to have a weekend day or two extra for family/fun time.

Yes!  (When we had a house!)  I hired a housecleaning service to come do a good clean right before DS was born and then I rehired them permanently when I went back to work.  They came every other Friday and charged me $85 a time.  I found them just by googling and calling around.  For some reason, I didn't have a lot of housecleaning services that would come to my area so this one sort of won by default, but they were great!

We have a regular cleaning lady.  It's actually 2 women that come twice a week and they get $95 a day.  They are usually in the house about 4 hours a day.  I got them through my great-aunt and now they also work for my mother, grandmother, aunt, best friend, another friend and her mother.  Maybe I should have asked for commission!

Dang, if I lived closer then you could send them to my house too! You should get a finders fee.

Haha! That is what I am afraid of. I will scrub the house then have the housekeeper come when I am done. Alternatively, I will re-clean what the housekeeper did because they didn't do it my way. LOL

Missy and Latte...that thread was all sorts of awesome! I won't have to worry about that FWP since I am OCD over my laundry and won't even let DH do it. LOL

She loves to watch them and loves imitating themI gave her a tissue once and she started to clean my bathtub with it after watching them! Maybe in a few years I can get rid of them and just have DD clean :

Li loves ours!  She pushes the vacuum with them and tries to mop.  I told them when she's older, I'll pour them a glass of wine and have Li do the work.  Li is so obsessed, I swear when she is saying ma ma ma she is trying to say Monica.  She has Tati down (they are Monica and Tatiana).

Mine will forever just be 'guls' to her haha! Plus Mariola is the main girl, and she already calls our nanny Lolo so its confusing! She follows them around when they vacuum it's really cute! Last week Mariola gave her a clean rag and she was cleaning my table!

I despise cleaning with a passion so if she wants to clean I'm all for it! Now anytime were out to eat she has to point out everyone cleaning up its hilarious.

I would suggest trying out a few places.  Go onto Groupon, you can get some pretty awesome deals on trial house keeping.  The price of a housekeeper really depends on the area.
