We're ttc #2 and I'm getting over a cold today, so I'd rather not do anything that involves getting out of my chair while dd naps. If we have another girl, we plan to name her Catherine and call her Wren (rather than going with Cathy, Katie, Kat etc from the beginning of the name). What we've wondered about, though, is the spelling of Wren. I assumed we'd just spell it like the bird but DH thought Ren/Rin might be better since it is a nickname for Catherine. I've only ever lurked on this board occasionally, but I've heard rumors elsewhere on tb about the bluntess/honesty of the ladies here, so I thought I'd ask.
Re: Wren?
Wren?
Love!
I've never heard of Wren as a NN for Catherine...I like it. I'd also spell it Wren.
I like the idea-- and I think it actually looks nicer spelled Wren.
I have a friend named Lauren that goes by Wren, and I always thought that was such a pretty and unique nickname.

Wren! Love it!
I go by my NN everywhere but work, and it can be spelled different ways, so I think it's actually an important thing to think about if it's something she's going to be called often. I always really appreciate it when someone spells my NN correctly.
This.
Same here!

I love Wren. If we have another baby girl, it will be her first or middle name. It is a family name for me.
I prefer it as a nn for Lauren. But Katherine is fine.
(My DD is Katherine - we call her Kate. We would still use Wren on a future baby even though it is a similar sound).

No more TTC for us. We are done, and at peace, as a family of 4.

I know of one person named Wren and he used to be a Darren til he got his sex change.
Wren was his choice for his new 'woman' name
