High levels...

So my numbers last week were at 64. Exactly one week ago. At this mornings blood draw they were 1364. Too high??

Re: High levels...

  • I wouldn't think so, how far along are you? Mine were at 29,000 when I was tested at late week 5. Google 'hCg chart' and you will get a chart of the appropriate ranges for each week of pregnancy.

  • They want it to double every 48-72 hours.

  • The number isn't as important as the fact that they double every 48 hours
  • I guess maybe I should rephrase haha... I know they aren't "too high" everyone starts at a different number I guess.
Maybe I mean is it too high for what it was a week ago?!
I heard that cn signify multiples too

  • They're supposed to essentially double in 48 hrs and with those numbers, your bHCG doubled in 1.58 days. Totally fine. Not high at all.

  • Yeah so I'm 5 weeks tomorrow.. But I mean the significance of how quickly they're going up. If we say they're supposed to double every 48 hours... Mathematically I should only be at 768 not 1364....

No. Do some simple math. And betas can't definitively tell you anything other than that you're pregnant and that the pregnancy is progressing. Sometimes higher betas can indicate a multiples pregnancy, but just as many multiple pregnancy betas are in the range of a singleton as well. There is really no need to freak out about this. Everything is fine.

ETA: They also don't double EXACTLY. It's not rocket science. They're going up, you're fine. Stop reading into them any more or you're going to make yourself crazy.

Thank you... I just worry since this is the same scenario with my last miscarriage.

Excellent post. My levels with my twins were constantly low and didn't double in 48 hours...took 72.

Not to be a debbie downer but I have to go back again to the dr tomorrow because my levels are so high and the baby hasn't developed to match them.  My dr is thinking that a mc is in my future, so yeah I get what you are saying.

Yeah so you understand what I mean. With my last miscarriage ::I've had two:: I'm just wondering if rapid increasing levels were a sign... But I have supporting evidence is for both ways. So fingers crossed for both of us. No bleeding for me yet. So fingers are crossed for one healthy pregnancy this time.

That is a normal range even for one week ago.

I wish people hoping for twins would do more research and stop posting redundant posts.

p.s. Nothing can tell you if you were having twins aside from an u/s. Even if your beta was 100,000 after one week.
