Transition to cold WCM from warmed bottles.....

Hi! We are in the process of transitioning my 14 month old from Alimentum to WCM and are almost done (did it slowly b/c of previos intolernace). I have been warming the bottles as always but am wondering what to do when it is strictly WCM. Do you ladies warm milk?

Re: Transition to cold WCM from warmed bottles.....

  • We have a strange "arrangement" with DS.  His first sippy in the morning gets warmed up.  His milk with lunch and dinner do not get warmed up.  He's fine with both, so I think it's mostly habit/tradition for DH when getting the sippy ready.

  • We warmed bottles but never sippys.  We did bottles during the transition to milk but once she was on WCM, we transitioned to sippys.
  • DS has a bottle of milk in the morning and at bedtime.  I warm them up just enough to take the chill off.  He'll drink milk cold from a straw cup though.

I guess in my mind, the bottle is comforting for DS so I think it should be warm.

  • She won't drink it cold.. If I warm it 20 seconds she will say "cold" and not drink it.. Mostly I warm it 30 secs. It would be so nice to not have to warm it since all of her sippys say not to microwave which means warming in glass cup and then pouring into a sippy. I need to work on the transitioning too.
