1- I don't have an answer for. I've been thinking about it but we did a really good job of only buying things we knew we'd use. we did a LOT of research.
2- The PNP. I wasn't going to buy a pack N play, but we got one for our shower. I was set on putting LO in the crib from night one but that PNP got put together as soon as we came home from the hospital and we've co-slept ever since. Its one of my favorite items and we'll probably invest in a nicer one once we have another LO.

1- Name one item that you spend money on and it ended up being a total waste?
Beco Gemini Baby Carrier - I was convinced I was going to wear DS everywhere. He hated being worn. Total waste of a lot of money. I hope I can sell it somewhere at some point. It's basically brand new sitting in DS's closet taunting me for my foolish purchase!
2- Name one item you weren't sure about spending money on, but ended up being a great purchase?
Gosh, I don't know. It's not so much about the money but more about giving in to DH and agreeing to get a La-z-Boy recliner/glider instead of a more "stylish" glider for DS's room. I hate to admit it (and may never admit it to DH!) but this chair is so freakin' comfortable. It was a great buy.
1- Ditto to PP, the pack and play has been used maybe three times
2- ROCK AND PLAY!!! We used it A TON! I ended up purchasing it when DD was about 2 weeks old. I wasn't sure about needing a crib, a pnp and a rnp, but it was worth every penny.
1. My expensive double breast pump.. I've only used it a few times and I only needed one pump.. Also, the baby bullet.. Used it once and never again. It was so much easier to just steam and mash up everything myself instead of cleaning a stupid machine and all the accessories..The bumbo, also a waste of money. Used it once or twice and it totally wasn't worth the money. A bassinett (bought it from a 2nd go round baby shop) and we basically just used it to throw clean baby clothes in as extra storage lol
2. Wasn't sure about a bouncer since I figured the swing would be awesome for her to chill in while I got a few things done around the house.. She ended up not really liking the swing after a while, but she LOVED being in the bouncer since I could bring it with me throughout the house and she could watch me do dishes or do my makeup while she hung out in it

1. WASTE: Ergo carrier...I never can seem to figure this out, and then he throws a fit when he's in it. Shoes for under 12months. He only wears socks or his moccasins from Hanna Anderssen. Also never used our Boppy.
2. WORTH THE $$$: fancy bassinet from Land of Nod for our bedroom.
1 - PBK bassinet, she hated sleeping flat. Ergo, hates being worn. Tons of 0-3 month clothes. Swing, hated it. PBK monogram quilt and pillow, use less and in the closet. A million receiving, swaddle blankets, mated swaddle. Granted a lot of this you don't expect them to not use but these are my wastes.
2 - PNP with bassinet/diaper changer we used it in the living room for about 6 months. Easy to change her in. Jumparoo, zany zoo. Big dresser, she has so many clothes.
1. We got a lot of things gently used hand-me-down from my sister. I did donate a lot of random toys though... really, blocks, a ball, some books and a doll are what she plays with 90% of the time anyway.
2. Cloth diapers. I was frightened of the upfront investment because I was worried that they wouldn't work since no one I knew used them. But they work so much better than the disposables for my LO. Such a good buy!
Total waste of money - Breast pump and everything else I bought for breastfeeding. It just did not work out for me. I wish I had waited. Also, that bouncy seat that supposedly bounces itself. No. It does not. Hated it.
Worth every cent - Snugabunny swing and Boppy pillows.
That's more than one item each...oh well!

Total waste of money: Baby bathtub. DD hated it. the first 5 months the only way she liked bath time was in the tub with Mommy. After 5 months we used the ktichen sink until she could sit up in the real tub. The Boppy pillow has been pretty useless. I hated it for breastfeeding. The my brestfriend was sooo much better.
Totally worth it: Ergo carrier, RnP, bouncer, Swaddleme blankets, portable white noise machine, Glammour Mom nursing tanks.
Wasted on: the swing. DH was set on the swing- was convinced we needed a swing, and all in all, for $80 we got maybe an hour or 2 of use out of it.
Surprised: My yoga ball. I though I would just be using it during my pregnancy and almost didn't buy it but so glad I did. Not only did it help my hips during the pregnancy- the ball was more effective for getting LO to sleep in those first weeks than any rocking chair. So much so that when a visiting dog popped it, we went out and bought a new one. So $40 (for 2 balls)= hours of sleep nearly every night from 6 weeks until we sleep trained at around 5 mos.
I have to agree with most others, waste of money - the PNP. the only thing we use it for is the changing table part for downstairs. The bouncy seat is probably a close runner's up. LO only started liking the bouncy seat around 7 months and has way outgrown it now.
Best purchase - white noise machine. Saved us during the colic stage and to this day. Worth every penny.
Such a waste: NB clothes (DD was born at 10lbs and in the summer so what did fit her she barely wore), and baby bathtub (she refused to bath alone until about 8 months).
So worth it: Jolly Jumper (bought used for $15 and it got her past the clingy 4-5 months stage where I couldn't leave a room without her screaming), cloth diapers (people told me I was nuts but I would never switch back now and they've saved us so much money), noise maker that attaches to her crib or PnP (this kid refuses to sleep without music and it has been our saviour especially when she has to sleep in new environments and I can just bring it along).
Play pen was a waste.......I bought a lot of toys and teethers and she loves them . Swing was expensive and worth it. I got the fisher price snug a bunny. And boppy was a waste....I nurse and never ever use it
Re: Name one Item...
2 the rock n play. It was awesome for reflux and so portable.
BFP #2 7/18/11 - EDD 3/29/12 - Born 3/13/12
BFP #1 4/4/11 - Natural M/C - 7w1d - 4/30/11
2. Worth every cent...Our swing. LO napped and slept in it until she was 9 months old.
The pack n play, bumbo chair, bottles, my super expensive double breast pump, the bouncy chair were all pretty much a waste of money.
My woven wraps have been worth more than I spent on them. I don't know how I would get by without a good, comfortable baby carrier.
2. My video monitor. DH thought audio was enough but I love the video one we have.
2. Space saver high chair!

1. WASTE:Formula Mixer-pitcher. He wouldn't drink cold formula.
2. GREAT: bath tub kneeler pad. Totally saves my knees during tubby time, and I actually use it when I'm cleaning the tubs/showers!

The itzbeen was a total waste of money.
Rock n Play was way better than I expected!
1. Pack N Play. She didn't like being in it at all. Also, the Ergo carrier. She didn't like being stuck in it for too long.
2. Swing. She slept in that thing for the first four months of her life. It was a life saver since she refused to sleep in her crib.
1. We got a lot of things gently used hand-me-down from my sister. I did donate a lot of random toys though... really, blocks, a ball, some books and a doll are what she plays with 90% of the time anyway.

Waste of money - pack and play OMG that sucks to set up and take down.
Worth every penny - bjorn travel crib. I was gifted this and it is super easy and nice and small to travel with.
Total waste of money - Breast pump and everything else I bought for breastfeeding. It just did not work out for me. I wish I had waited. Also, that bouncy seat that supposedly bounces itself. No. It does not. Hated it.

Am I the lone sole who loves her pack-n-play?!?
Lifesaving investment...sleep sheep white noise crib machine
Waste: new clothes
Lifesaver: Swing
