Bruising!

Any other babies constantly falling and getting bruises? Where do they get them and how often? I feel like alexander always has bruises on his legs. I try to be extra gentle nad the next day he has a few more. Our doctors appointment is tomorrow and I am worried this is not the norm.

Re: Bruising!

  • Audra periodically has bruises on her legs. I attribute them to crawling in to things and banging her legs while walking a long furniture. I would say that I notice one maybe every 1-2 weeks.

  • Out pediatrician warned us that once they star walking they will get bruises on their legs knee down and tops of their heads foreheads up. She said it completely normal.

  • I think "some" bruising, especially at this age, is very normal. Ian has bruises on his knees and shins, he's a crawler. I can only imagine where the bruises will be when he starts walking.

  • DS gets bruises on his knees from crawling fast on the hardwood floor + when standing up, his way of getting down is to just drop to his knees (ouch!).
  • Thanks ladies! Alexanders bruises sound just like that. ever few weeks he gets a few. I guess he just plays hard!

I think some small bruises are very normal. My daughter falls a lot and crawls hard and she always has bruises.

This is my DD too... little bruises all over her legs!

  • Pure vanilla will prevent a bruise...just a random tip.

DS' head circumference is the biggest percentile and I have no scientific reason to state this, but I think it is why he is constantly knocking his head into things when he's walking around.  He would have a totally bruised forehead without vanilla.

  • Jackson always has a couple bruises on his legs...I don't think it's a big deal...he's walking and crawling all over the place. He has recently discovered our wood stairs...I feel more bruises are in my distant future.
