October 2011 Moms

An apology

People used to comment that they thought my stories were funny so I posted them.  My days mostly consist of a battle of wills between an almost 4 year old who refuses to eat and an almost 1.5 year old who is hell bent on trying to destroy himself.  I don't get a lot of adult interaction so when something I think is funny happens I want to share with other moms. If my stories are starting to annoy then I will stop.

I don't remember ever talking about how my son has a kick assed vocab but if I did I apologize because it's not cool.  My daughter didn't say anything clearly until she had her tonsils out last year.  I know how stressful it is when you see other kids speaking clearly and yours doesn't.  So my bad. Sorry.

ETA: Not the mole.

Re: An apology

  • The thing is, I think a lot of us feel like you're not interacting.  You come and post something that happened to you, and a few people comment, and you respond to them.  Maybe I'm missing it since I'm not around quite as much as I used to be, but I haven't seen you posting in other people's threads in a long time.

I feel like you have a bit of a "my life is awesome" wall up.  If you need adult interaction, we're here.  Just, you know, be real with it.

You come here for interaction and so do we.  We want to interact with you, which is hard.  Commenting on your posts is difficult because they don't always spark conversations.  I think I am guilty of this too.  I will write about things that happened and they aren't really open ended.  We are all entitled to our AW moments though so don't stop posting your stories.

I bet if you commented on more posts we would probably all feel more connected.

BTW I think having a blog would be a great idea for you, you do have a ton of entertaining stories, and a hectic life to follow.

i agree with this. Everyone posts an AW or a rant from time to time, but yours just got to be about daily. And felt more show offy than interactive. And it seems you were only reading/worrying about your own posts. So yeah, that's all.

  • Sammy, I've always really enjoyed reading your stories.  You have a gift the way that you write.  I've never noticed you doing too many AW's, to be honest with you.  I hope that you don't stop posting your stories.

I agree with this.  It would be nice to see your input on some of the other posts, though.  And might help you feel like you're getting more adult interaction.

I feel the same way. I don't always comment on them, but I enjoy reading them. When it was brought up in FFFC, I thought it was about me because my posts are pretty much always tl;dr....I am just descriptive when I post/comment. Your posts don't bother me at all.
