**Updated***Do blue HPT ever give reliable results? (Possible BFP...)

You'd think I'd be a pro at POAS by now - but I decided to test today (9pdIUI) b/c - well, b/c I can't figure out if I'm stressed & tired or maybe having symptoms.  I always remember people saying, if it's early enough for symptoms it's early enough for a +.  

 Anyway, so I POAS not expecting a darn thing and sure enough - a very faint blue line.  When reading online it says this particular test can detect 6.5mg of HCG where as the wondfo will decect 25mg of HCG.  

Anyway - while I really, really don't want to let myself get excited (no more FMU until tomorrow!) do you think the blue tests are ever reliable?  I'm going to grab a different one at the store today for good measure and not mention a thing to DH...anybody suggest a good brand for early results that use pink dye?? 

 

ETA: I've used this test before 3 times before in different cycles - all negative.  Of course it doesn't hit me that it's blue until it's +...also, I did test out my trigger and it's been fully out of my system since Friday.

 

ETA: #2 Okay, so we ar now 11dp trigger and 10dpIUIU.  I tested this morning with a variety of tests (3).  The results are in: FRER - bright, clear positive - no mistaking it or squinting.  ClearBlue: Same - it's a blue one though and I had convinced myself of a false positive yesterday with a generic blue dye test.  Wondfo (what I used to test out): Very, very faint line.  Seriously, so faint you have to know what you're looking for - but still there faint.  This is what's throwing me off - why is this one so faint and the other ones dark?  I'm scared that when I was testing my trigger out I missed something - but I remember turning that darn Wondfo every single angle I could and seeing nothing.  

So, I'm still in doubt (wth is wrong with me? Not at all how I pictured this going).  Luckily AF is supposed to start on Thursday and I usually start spotting tomorrow & Wednesday - so not much more of a wait before I'd believe it.  For now, since I have a line (and I know, "a line is a line") I will just lurk on this board. Thanks for all of your support, Ladies - I really appreciate it!!

    Probably! If they weren't ever accurate I doubt they would sell them! I'd say if you took it within the allotted time frame then it's probably legit. I will go ahed and say congrats and I can't wait to hear about tomorrow's test!

    I'm sure that they're accurate sometimes, but I did get a false positive with a blue dye test once, within 10 minutes and definitely blue vs an evap line. Later that day and the following morning I had 2 negative FRER tests followed by AF. So I hope it's legit, but don't get your hopes up quite yet, get a pink dye test!

    Hysteroscopy (normal) and PCOS labs (negative/normal) 1/15/2013
    2/1/13- HPT BFP but Beta Hcg was negative
    Plan: Femara + Trigger + IUI in April if no real BFP before then Bloggy Blog!

    I would think that blue dye tests have got to be accurate some of the time otherwise they wouldn't make them.  I think it sounds like a really good sign that you got a faint line!  I would get a FRER and test tomorrow morning.  GL!

    I got my BFP in the evening. OP, did you test out trigger with Wondfos or FRER? I'd wait a couple days and test, since for me the FRERs were more sensitive than the cheapies.

    I didn't think that FRERs were more sensitive  than Wondfos.. just that they showed a more clear line... I'm not an expert though =)

    Dx: Feb '13 - HSG shows clear tubes but minor diverticulitis; Borderline DOR; Low DHEA and low testosterone.
    Moving on to IUI or IVF.

    So, I tested with a wondfo bc I wanted to save the real red dye test for the morning - anyway very (more so than the blue line this morning) faint line on a wondfo - what I used to test the trigger out with...I'm not sold by any means...and my hopes are nowhere near up yet..

    If you tested out your trigger and now have a faint line on the same type of test I'd say its looking pretty hopeful.  GL tomorrow morning!  FX for you!

    I'm really cheering for you! GL tomorrow morning. I love seeing TTC BFP's...especially those with the unexplained dx. Gives me a lot of hope!

    ***SIGGY WARNING***

    DX: Unexplained
    6 Failed IUIs (Clomid and Gonal F).  
    IVF #1 began August 2013- BC, 4 days of Estrace, stimmed with Gonal F and Menopur, Ganirelix, 9R 5M 5F, Medrol and Doxycycline, 5 day transfer of 2 early blastocysts- good quality, Progesterone, Estrace, and baby aspirin, BETA on 9/20 BFN,   IVF #2 began September 2013, stimming with Gonal F (higher dose) and Menopur, Ganirelix, 18R 14M 9F with ICSI, 5 day transfer of 2 BBs one was starting to hatch, 2 frosties: 1  BB and 1 AC, BETA on 10/21, BFN BETA was a 5- chemical 
    Getting some more testing and trying to figure out what the issue is before FET in December, started acupuncture on 11/10, RLP and some other BW nothing major to report except slightly high Prolactin. Prolactin was slightly high when I started with my RE and I already had an MRI which was Neg.  Endo biopsy=negative.  WTF is wrong with us???
    12/18/13 FET of 1 BB and 1 AC.  Hoping for a miracle.  Beta 12/26 Low BETA-8 2nd BETA 5- chemical
    After 3 failed transfers IDK where to go from here.  Still no real answers as to why this isn't working.  Getting a second opinion in February and looking into immune testing.  
    2/14- NEW RE- Immune testing showed a partial dq alpha match with DH- On prednisone and did intralipids prior to transfer.  3/14 Lupron, gonal f, menopur, HGH.  ER 15 mature all 15 fertilized!  5dt of an early blast grade 1 and an expanded blast grade 2.  BETA on 4/21.  1 grade 2 embryo frozen
    BETA #1 59 BETA #2 148 BETA #3 283 BETA #4 2,783! US at 6w2d shows 1 bean measuring right on track! HR 121.  US at 8w3d measuring on track HR 177. Released form my RE.  EDD 12/28

    TTC #1 since May 2006 - We thought we were done in 2010, but we are back again!
    PCOS (anovulatory and amenorrhea) and hypothyroid.
    Currently taking Metformin 1500 MG and Synthroid.
    Prior HSG and DH SAs were clear.
    Feb 2013 - Switched clinics/RE and starting from the beginning again with some modifications.
    Current status: CD 3 appointment showed lining was too thick (11.5 mm). Endometrial biopsy scheduled for CD 11. Next steps will be based on results.

    Congrats!! I'd trust FRER, I know pee on a stick says Wondfo are less sensitive but I'm not sure I believe it. I got a positive digi before a positive Wondfo.

    Me: 29, had two blocked tubes - left was cleared during lap, right was unable to be cleared. PCOS & Stage 2 Endo. DH: 32, SA = perfect
    CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's. FEMARA: 1 round = no response
    12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
    Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
    Cycle #15 - no meds, still have cysts, no follicles. Boo!
    Forced break. Continuous BCP for 6 weeks to give my jacked up ovaries a break.
    Cycle #16 actively trying (May/June): Femara, TI = BFN
    Cycle #17- #20 - Med/Treatment break, trying on our own = BFN's all around.
    Cycle #21 - Femara, MORE Femara, Ovidrel and a Christmas IUI = BFN

    July 2012 - Tests with RE confirmed PCOS and annovulation

    2 rounds of clomid, 5 IUI's using clomid + injectibles. 

    Surprise BFP while on break cycle due to cysts.  It's a girl! Baby "E" born on Thanksgiving Day 11/28/13

    Really? That's good to know!! Did you test your trigger out on a Wondfo? 

    I started to test out the very next day that I triggered!

    Don't laugh but here are mine! I started testing early so I could see the line fade away and hopefully get an early positve since I would have something to compare it to!

    With my BFP, my Wondfo's were SUPER light, but the FRER was obvious.  Congrats!

    Thanks for posting this picture.  I dug out all my HPTs - and sure enough there was a disappearing line (I remember it at 8dpo-ish).  Sunday, I had to tilt it to see - and then yesterday was a bit darker - but today is a clear line on the Wondfo.  Another good sign (I've peed on a lot lately) is that up until last night I was getting negative Wondfo tests at 8pm - last night I got a clear positive on it.  Todays lines are all much more clear - so I'm starting to believe it - I guess it just hasn't sunk in all the way.  I guess I'm holding out for AF to not show on Thursday before I believe it 100%.
