So mad at DH

He stayed up until 12:30 last night just for the heck of it, watching TV and playing on his phone. Addy's party is at noon today. She got up at 7:30 and I got her and started taking care of her, fine, that's the norm. But when I'm all done and just need him to hang out with her so I can get stuff done before the party (oh, you know, like get myself ready for one thing), he tells me he still wants to sleep so "not right now." Are you freaking kidding me?

I would tell him he should have slept last night and to deal with it! I swear men have no clue the stress and time that it takes to put on a birthday party.

My husband is in the dog house too this morning, for sort of similar reasons. It's not party day for us, though. If it were, he'd be doing more than cook his own breakfast [which kind of backfired on me anyway since I'm now stuck with all his dirty dishes]. I hope your day gets better and Addy has an awesome party! Don't let this set the tone for your whole day!!

Thanks ladies! He is continuing to be a royal jerk. I want to be able to enjoy her party today so badly, I have worked hard on this. I'm going to put on a happy face for my daughter.

DH likes to stay up late so I have dealt with similar situations.  My solution... walk in there, smack him on the head a few times so you know he is awake, set her on his belly and say "here is your daughter, I am getting ready for the party, fall back to sleep and let her fall off the bed and you die."

It really does work, I do it every weekend morning when I am trying to play with Logan and Kellen won't stop knocking our tower down

This is fantastic. He would probably be even more pissed off than he was today though. Oh well, I might try it sometime.

Thanks for asking. It went well! All but 2 of the people who said they were coming came, so I was pleased with the turnout. DH was being a loser at first and went outside with a lot of the guys to pull up the electric fence (I kid you not, at his DD's 1st birthday party). About halfway through they came inside. Other than that it went smoothly though, and DD was so cute when we gave her her cupcake. She was very dainty with it, just like Mama. There was very little mess but she also had no idea how to really eat it or take off pieces so she mostly kept touching the icing and putting her fingers in her mouth over and over. Pics to come one of these days I hope.

I understand about your h. My h decided right before Laney's party that his beard trimmer wasn't working effiencently and he should go to Sally's for another. While I was getting ready with 2 little kids. Yep.
