How early to POAS

Hello! Although I have posted here in the past, I currently post on TTCAL/TTC after 35 and I am hopeful one day I will be posting here again.

My question...I am curious how early some of you have gotten BFP and what tests were used. As I lurk around, sometimes I notice signatures saying 3wks4d pregnant, etc, and I had no idea you could test that early. I plan to start temping/charting after AF arrives since I really didn't have a handle on my cycle this month...but a small part of me is optimistic maybe it'll worked out for us this month...

I was on TTC > 35 for almost the full 13 months it took me to get my BFP (and stay pregnant).

I actually used the Wondfos from Amazon.com because with all those months of testing, they were cheap and I found they worked as well as, if not better than, the FRERs.

I tested positive at 10 DPO, and the only reason I tested was that a prominent vein appeared on my breast, which was the first sign I was pregnant the few months prior (which I lost at about 7 weeks). Just out of curiosity, I tested and whammo: BFP! I'm glad I did test early, though, because it allowed me to start taking my progesterone suppositories as early as possible to help support the pregnancy. (As a reference, I had a 13-14 day LP, so I tested positive 3-4 days before my expected period.)

I tested early with first response and really like them. If you want to test a million times though, I have found the dollar store ones are fine but you'll have to wait until right around AF.

I always used the cheapie wondfos to test early and then followed up with a frer if I got a +. I think I'm a freak though and have always gotten bfp's really early, this pregnancy it was 7dpo, I've always gotten a + by 9dpo when I have been pregnant. I know alot of people would say that's not possible but I was very detailed about charting and temping so there was no confusion with how many dpo I was. Wondo's seem to pick up very very low amounts of hcg but you can on a rare occasion get a false + from them if you get a bad batch. Best of luck!!!

I never got a +HPT before 12 or 13dpo even w/a FRER. This pregnancy I wasn't having any symptoms so I didn't test until it dawned on me AF was late, so around 18dpo.

Last year with my loss pregnancy I tested at 13 DPO and got a positive.  It was faint, but there was no doubt.  This pregnancy, it was about a week or so after my missed period.  I was taking a break from all temping, trying, medications after my failed FET and quite frankly didn't believe it was going to happen on it's own like that.  I though it was just by body adjusting after all I had put it through in the last year.  My husband suspected and encouraged me to test a few days before that even, but I put it off and when it still didn't come, I decided to just do it.  I was shocked when it was darkly positive!

Wow, SEVEN dpo?! That's insane! I thought the earliest some test and could see a positive is 10 dpo. 

Thanks for the responses and also the suggestions for wondfos. I will check them out! I plan to get the OPKs too, so may as well by both! Hope to be joining you ladies sooner than later!

My cycles were a little shorter, like 26 days. I got a BFP on day 21 of my cycle using that 5 days before your missed period FR.

Like PP, I have a shortish cycle and short luteal phase, I can only imagine this is why I usually get an early bfp.

I got my bfp at 4w2d using a FRER, it was a dark line and fast result at that point. I had just barely started charting after months of trying and whammo. I always used FRERs as they're the most accurate but only by a smidge. I just used them sparingly due to cost.

I had a ticker that read 3w4d with DS1 and I think I got my BFP at 10 DPO. WIth DS2 I didn't get my BFP until 14 DPO though.

When I was on TTGP I would see some people test and get a + at 9DPO, which is pretty early.  I didn't test until 12DPO with this one because I honestly didn't believe there was any way I was going to be pregnant.  I O'd really early that cycle (CD9) so I was only 3w6d (I think) when I got the + test.

@Eliz77, I was able to get very faint positives at 9-10 dpo.  If you are having luck pinpointing your ovulation date then you very well may be able to see results that soon (althougth it of course depends on when implantation occurs and other factors so it very well could come much later than that...); sometimes I worry that it just messes with your mind more than anything when you start testing so early, so make sure you set healthy boundaries for yourself

Also, if you are interested, I have a bunch of Wondfo's, a few FRER (I think) and maybe even a digital test that I could mail you...  Send me a Private Message on here with your address and I'd be happy to send them off to you.  (I totally understand if you are weary about sharing your address with a stranger so don't feel obligated, just wanted to throw that offer out there tho!)
