Bleeding after d&c

My d&c was 4 days ago. Since then I've only spotted and used panty liners. Yesterday I felt great, other than some back pain which the dr said was normal (unless I had a fever). I've been pretty crampy and gassy/backed up I think. So I wasn't sure if the crampiness was from the gas or the actual procedure. 

Well tonight I just woke up feeling super gassy, so I thought I'd try and go to the bathroom. To my surprise when I did, I passed a small clot-size of a grape and am now bleeding heavy red, mucousy blood and having pretty bad cramping. Anyone else have this delayed bleeding and cramping?? I don't want to call on call dr if this is stupid and normal (it's 4am), but not sure if this is normal or not. I took 2 aleve and am using the heating pad right now, but the pain is pretty bad.

I don't know.
Did they say "call if you're soaking a pad in an hour" or anything like that? That seems to be the parameter I've heard for everything lately.
I'm an ICU nurse, so not this specialty, but I'd think if the bright red bleeding continued at the rate in "" above that you should call or go in to the ER. Less than that, if it's stopping/slowing, you can probably wait for Monday.

And take your narcotic pain pill no aspirin if you've got one.

Unfortunately they didn't give me pain meds. After an hour awake and the pain being so bad I can't sleep or do much, I called the answering service. Waiting on call from the dr now. Hoping they say its normal...but also hoping they can do something for my pain.

Good for you. You do need something for that pain at the very least. I hope it's better soon.

Just an update...on call dr said this is normal (for now). He said after the d&c the blood that should've come out probably just clotted, so it's coming out now. He said as long as I'm still not bleeding heavily on Monday it's fine. 

The worst part is the cramping and back pain now. I did get some relief from passing the clot, so that's good and it wasn't constipation

My d&e was 15 days ago. I'm still having light bleeding/spotting. It's almost stopped a few times, but then picks up a little. I should have called the doc yesterday, but thought it was stopping (again). Still happening today, so a call is in order for Monday.

I'm glad they said everything was normal. I didn't have the delayed cramps, but the bleeding has come and gone at points. I hope you still aren't bleeding 15 days after...it just sucks!

 My d&c was yesterday- my doctor said if the clots are larger than quarters to call because it should be looked at.

I would always call if you think something isn't right- better safe than sorry and that's what the doctor is there for.

CALL THE DR!! THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE COMPLICATIONS I FACED AFTER A MOLAR PREGNANCY! CLUSTERS AND CLOTS SHOULD NOT BE PRESENT> YOUR PATHOLOGY REPORT IS NOT BACK YET BUT HAVE YOUR HCG CHECKED!! IT SHOULD NOT REMAIN HIGH!

I cannot stress this enough having bled clots increasing in size for 1 month before hemmorhaging and finding out it was a molar pregnancy. They can monitor u so this doesn't happen t you. Insist on an internal ultrasound and mention you are suspicious of a molar pregnancy.

I am a nurse and trust me...be assertive with your DR! God Luck!!

I've experienced this in a way and not sure what it is. I had my DnC Tuesday and yesterday I had stopped bleeding. That was until this afternoon I went pee and felt that I passed a clot and when I wiped it was nothing but blood. Since then I've gone back to bleeding and cramping so I took my prescribed pain pills and took a nap. I'm kinda worried but have no one to call until the morning.
