How to post a GIF

So I desperately want to join in the GIF fun on some of these posts and I am showing my newbie side here for sure but...how the heck to I post one! I am totally lost. HELP!

Google a GIF and copy and paste it.

I just go to google and do an image search. You can usually right click and select "copy image". Then just past it in your response.

I can do pictures, but not the animated ones. Do you have to search animated GIFs?

Most of the time if you hit "go to original" it will have the animated gif. Then it is still the same cp protocol.

Rule of thumb: If it is moving where your viewing, it will move when you post.

I know how to do it from mobile, but can hardly ever get to a page that is just the gif to copy it from. Any time I find one I love, it's embedded in some random blog or something and I can't get it by itself.

Sorry for posting on your thread. I was searching for help on how to post a gif and came across this thread. I didn't realize it was another birth month club until right after I posted.

Again I apologize and I will be more careful in the future as to where I post.
