Babies on the Brain

1 Day Late

My periods are quite regular. I have been tracking them for 11 months. One time right as the hottest weather period ended and it cooled down significantly my period shifted. I took a pregnancy test 4 days ago and it tested negative. I hope this is not another shift. It can be a real downer when you are TTC because missed periods are the earmarks you look for. I hope this is the real deal.

  • Sigh. Have you been charting BBT? If not, you haven't been "tracking" anything.

Even people with incredibly "regular" cycles have variations from month to month.

  • How do you track?

  • I mark the day it begins and the day it ends. I also mark the days when I feel like I am ovulating which is usually around 14-16 days after and it is almost always on time. I looked at my calendar down to 11 months back when I started marking it down and the only time it changed is when the weather went from extremely hot to cool. I have only been TTC since last month though. I am sure it is unusual for most women to get a home run the first time.
  • I am able to tell when I am ovulating by the color and consistency of my cervical mucus. I also tend to get cramps when I am ovulating. But it is primarily mucus that tells me when.
