Fertility Monitors

Hello, I had a DNC last Friday.  I know I have to wait a little while before we can try again.  I am 39 DH is 41.  We got lucky and conceived the first shot in December.  Now after DnC I am a little paranoid.  Since we are older I dont want to wait too long to try again. 

 

I did use the ovulation tests last time since I have no idea when I O.  I was thinking this time to get a monitor they are so expensive so not sure but kind of wanting too.  Anyone have any luck with a certain one?

Any thoughts?  Thanks

I am sorry for your loss  

I have been using the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor and have found it to be a great device in pinpointing my ovulation.  I used the monitor along with preseed the second month we started TTC and got my first BFP.  Sadly, the pregnancy resulted in m/c.  I have been using it for two month following my D&C and it has worked great. I use OPK in conjunction with the monitor to confirm my LH surge and has worked like a charm each time.   

One thing to note though if you decide to purchase the monitor.  For most women, it takes one cycle for the monitor to get to know you.  So you may not see peak fertility (aka, when you are about to ovulate) until the second month using it.  This was the case for me.

Thank you for your advice. Good to know about the first month the monitor is " getting to know you " so to speak.
Just did not want to spend the money if it was not worth it. Thanks!!!

I also use a CBFM (Clear Blue Fertility Monitor). I bought mine used from eBay. They are easily reset.  I am no good with temping so the monitor makes it easier for me.  I also buy the sticks on eBay as they are much cheaper.  Good luck!

Awesome thank you never thought of getting a used one!!! Will check that out.

You trusted that the monitor worked buying from eBay? I hate to get one and it not work and waste the money.

I used the CBFM with the CB OPKs and we got lucky the 2nd month TTC DS.

Thanks a friend of mine said I could have here so now I can't wait til I'm cleared by the Dr to start trying again. This is going to drag!!! Having to wait!!!

Have you ever tried the olvulation scope.  You may want to try this as well.  My eggs dont work so it can't help me but several of my friends have tried this along with the clear blue easy and it worked well for them.  It is super easy (look for a fern pattern, can be used every day, and its cheap one works for a long time) just a suggestion
