A's school is in need of a lot. It is a part of the charter life. The need sidewalks, playgrounds, books, computers, the list goes on and on. Instead of fund raisers, the school has festivals, dinners out, and other ways to make money.
I am her room mom and I am in charge of getting a gift basket together for the spring festival. I have asked the parents to chip in $2 if they have it. It is to cover the basket.
They are selling bricks for books. It is $40 for one brick. They will use the brick to finish the sidewalks and the money to buy books for the library. I am asking the parents to send in $2 per child.
I had 3 kids bring in the money. I would much rather put the money in myself and just go about my day, than ask for donations.
I don't have the heart to email again to ask for the money. My only other option is to ask a business to donate items. Again, I can't bring myself to do it. Stupid pride.
Do you have a way for me to get over this? Is $4 too much to ask for?

Re: I cannot bring myself to ask for donations.
One thing I found, is a flying astronaut. I was super excited over it.
I bought eggs that hatch aliens last weekend. I want to get glow in the dark planet set, a puzzle of space, a movie about space, freeze dried space food and fillers(maybe popcorn and candy for the movie).
I am not really sure. I know the teacher signed off on the email I sent out. I might be getting impatient as well. I asked last Friday. Several parents knew A was out of school all week too. They might be holding off until she gets back to send it in. I need to send a reminder email and I don't want to do it.
Woe is me.
You can.
Our brick says "Allie Lastname kindergarten 20122013." The class brick will say "Teachername's Astronsunts 20122013" H's family brick says "The Grandparents of Allie Lastname."
It never crossed my mind to do that! I will get a list of items and locations together.
