Babies: 6 - 9 Months

What are you feeding your 7 month old?

Just curious as to what foods you are feeding your 7 month old?  So far we do 2 meals a day of Gerber 2nd stage foods - a fruit in the morning and a veggie at night.  I no longer give the cereal as the larger containers seem to fill her up.  I haven't introduced "adult" food but am wondering if I can try bananas, yogurt, etc.

  • Some 2nd stage baby food, some cereals, puffs and baby mum mums for practice feeding himself more than nutrition, some purees I make from out food, and tiny bites of things like banana, green bean, rice, etc.

  • My 7 month old eats what we do. He is really good at the pincher grip already and won't eat puree's anymore

  • DS is 7 months old. He eats 4 to 8oz of purees a day, puffs, and then we let him have what we eat sometimes. We give him a smashed bean or piece of rice or a pea, etc. but he doesn't fill up on the little bit of "real" food he eats so we do purees as well. We found he sleeps better if he's had a pures and nurses before bed. He also likes bananas, he just holds the whole things and goes at it. We just have to watch for size of pieces he breaks off.
  • We've done and continue to do-- sweet potatoes, bananas, avocados, apples, pears, nectarines, green beans, carrots, squash and zucchini.

We tried Greek yogurt and blueberries and it wasn't a hit...at all! So we are waiting to try that again.

Also tried puffs and she picks them up and puts them in her mouth okay but isn't really chewing yet so we are waiting until 8 months to try them again.

  • We have done the basics: rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes, avacado, apples, squash, and pears. I've also starting intoducing more "wild" things like: peaches, white potatoes, carrots, and oatmeal. I'm staying away from dairy for a few more months just beause K has a sensitive stomach and I don't want to introduce it until spitting up subsides a little more.

Bananas should be totally fine! Unless your family has an allergy to them, there isn't a reason not to!!

  • Avocado, applesauce, pears, peaches, prunes/plums, squash, sweet potatoes, turnips, parsnips, carrots, pumpkin, green beans, peas, bananas, blueberries, yogurt...

He also had a few bites of blueberry goat cheese because I was eating it and he looked interested. And I put a sweet pepper like a bell pepper, not hot through blender for him too, again because I was eating and he wanted some.

  • He's had everything Gerber sells in 2nd Foods. We do three meals a day; fruit, veggie, then veggie & meat. I've given him banana, avocado, and slices of apples (the apples he just slobbers all over - it's great for teething!). I tried to give him the yogurt puffs and he wanted nothing to do with them. I tasted one and I don't blame him. We did buy him some Mum-Mums and he loves them.
