Cloth Diapering

WWYD?

DS is fully potty trained during the day (we're still working on poop), but at night we put him in a pull-up and call it his "night time underwear." He's been fine with this until this week. He's been saying, "no diaper" and trying to pull it off. We straighten it and get him distracted before going to bed and when he wakes up he immediately wants it off. He NEVER wakes  up dry, so I am thinking of putting him in a OS diaper at night. I only have MF inserts though. Should I order something else or double stuff? Do you think he'll catch on and call it a diaper too? We've come so far with PTing I don't wanna mess it up. *I also don't wanna buy the cloth trainers b/c I am on CD buying restriction*

Re: WWYD?

  • we kind of decided on restriction together b/c I've been buying fluff and things for the nursery off of etsy. I was wondering how many trainers to get, so I might be able to get 2 or 3 next week. (every bill we have seems to be due this week).

  • What about letting him wear regular underwear and putting a waterproof pad under his sheet for a little while to see how he does?  Maybe it would give him confidence and an incentive to get up to go to the bathroom since he seems motivated.

  • DD2 is about the same age. We do OS pocket diapers at night, but we call them diapers, and she has no trouble wearing diapers at night and using the potty during the day. She still needs my help in the bathroom, and there's no way she would wake up at night and actually go use the potty. That would just result in a wet bed and upset child every night. I'd probably buy a couple pairs of the overnight trainers. I have yet to find any that get great reviews though, so I haven't bought yet. I put some on my amazon registry so I can get the completion discount. I have Super Undies, Grovia, and Kissaluvs trainers on there to try.

  • I think i'm gonna try best bottoms trainers. You use a washable liner so the cover doesnt have to be washed each time. The don't snap at all and come in 3 sizes. They look like real underwear. I hope it works.
