Deli meat?

I was just looking around at toddler menus on pinterest, and one of the protein option was deli meat.

I had never even considered it, because I know it is "unsafe" while pregnant, and figured that means it is unsafe for babies?

Does anyone feed their LO deli meats?

Yep, he probably has deli meat 1-2 times a week. He starting eating it around 9 months.

YES!! We buy the carving board style becuase it's thicker and it's perfect when you need something quick and Reece LOVES it. It tastes awesome too!

Most deli meat is super packed with nitrites which are one of the leading carcinogens. That being said, I buy Boars Head brand which is nitrite free. DS eats it often and loves it!

I buy boars head low sodium turkey from the deli and have them slice it thick for Dd.

This is good to know!!  I have been looking for nitrate free since I know the carving board stuff I give Reece is packed with them. Thanks for the tip!!

Mabrey LOVES deli meat.  It's her lunch most days for daycare.  I either buy boars head or the hormel natural choice.

Yeah, L eats it several times a week! However, I will start buying Bohrs head now after reading it is nitrate free! Worth the extra cost!!

This! We get the Honey Maple Chicken Breast. My DD loves it!
