Just found out were having a girl : We really like the name Sophia with the nm Sophie but we are havin a really hard time finding a middle name to go with it... Any suggestions would really help, thanks:

Also, can I ask why you aren't naming her Sophie? Nicknames are usually shorter then the formal name. I don't really get doing a nn that is only one letter different. There isn't anything wrong with it, I am just curious.

I prefer Sophia Isabel to Sophia Isabella. The "A" sounds at the ends of Sophia and Isabella make them flow in a sing-song way.  

I was actually thinking the same thing with the two a's at the end

I think PP was trying to point out that Sophie can be a standalone name on its own, it doesn't have to only be a nickname for Sophia.  I have a cousin named just Sophie (and a cousin Sofia)

That being said, I'm going to jump on the Sophia Isabelle / Sophie Isabella bandwagon, I like those combinations very very much.

MH (James) gets annoyed that people think he wants to be called Jim.  A one syllable nickname for a one syllable name.

OP, I know a little girl named Sophia Mae. I think that's very nice. I also like the Sophia Noelle combo that a few other posters have mentioned!
