I am planning a baby shower for a close friend at my house. I have never thrown a shower before so I am trying to figure out food/drinks/games. It's a baby girl and so far I am just doing a pink/brown color scheme.
I planned the party for 2 p.m. so can I get away with just drinks, cake, and some appetizers? I was thinking pink lemonade and maybe one other drink.
If appetizers are ok, any ideas on some yummy appetizers?
Also, I'm not a huge fan of shower games but I was thinking of planning at least one. Any ideas?
Re: Anyone bored?
I think lemonade is great and maybe iced tea and water.
I like the toilet paper or string game where everyone cuts a piece to guess how big around the mamas tummy is and then whoevers is closets wins a small price. It's easy and not a ton of prep work. I've been to a few where everyone uses fabric markers to decorate white onesies for new baby and mama chooses fav.
We just had a 2pm shower for a friend and had mini spinach pies, tortilla cups (tortilla chip scoops filled with taco spiced chicken and topped with cheese & guac), hummus with veggies, gruyere tarts, cookie dough dip with graham crackers, and cake. I made decorated sugar cookies for favors (it was a small shower, or else I wouldn't have done it since they take forever, lol).
Someone else was in charge of games and she did the streamer one (where you try to guess how big the mom is around by cutting a length of streamer) and matching celebrities with their babies' names. Bingo is always an easy and non-embarrassing one.
