Overwhelmed

DS had a cold at the beginning of last week and it totally messed with his days and nights. For a solid week now, he has not been sleeping well at all! He will wake up 4+ times a night and sometimes will only sleep if he is being held. DH and I are going on little sleep! Plus I am stressed at work. My body is still not back to normal (some of you may remember that I had a terribly painful pregnancy with severe difficulty walking for 18 weeks).

I was just so overwhelmed last night, I cried. When I got home today, I felt like crying. DS cried for a bottle and I burst into tears. This has got to get easier.

Re: Overwhelmed

  • raise his mattress in the crib at one end (i just put a pillow under his)

use the nose sucker (lifesaver! even though they hate it, it helps SO much!....I've found that the one that you get from the hospital works so much better than those ones in the first aid kit)

it does get better, then it gets bad again, then it gets better (oliver was good then he had a double ear infection, then was good, then got another cold and the flu and was puking on sunday night....now he's better!)

p.s. i sent out that 2nd coupon...did the first one ever come?

  • I got a coupon in the mail yesterday Thanks. Never got the other one. Sorry---I should have emailed you.
  • no worries....

i felt kinda bad cause i didn't remember your name and had to address the envelope "mrs.mclovin" with your address....

  • Oh that sucks.  I am sad that you are already back at work :(

Do you have a humidifier?  That may help him sleep.  I bring R into the bathroom while I shower.  It seems to help with boogies.

    Take care of yourself!

  • Ditto humidifier and nose bulb

  • His cold lasted for 2 days and DS is better now. He just wakes up and doesn't even always want to eat.

I have just felt so sad for days now.

  • It does get better...but even now I still have my days of feeling overwhelmed. I give it a good cry and get it out my system. Because just his precious face smiling at me alone is worth it
  • dd is very congested right now so we have been letting her sleep in her car seat.  You  might want to try that.  Hang in there. I know how you feel I have felt like you from time to time.
  • When ds gets congested we let him sleep in his swing.  You may want to talk to your doctor about getting a nebulizer for your little one.  My son was congested for weeks it seems like and coughing to the point of gagging.  We had our ds use a nebulizer for about a week and he is like a completely different child.  Good luck!  (((Hugs)))
