Rough DayBFN

Well, another BFN. I guess this time has been so much worse than all the others because we finally saw a response from the clomid on moving up O by a few days and I had 3, THREE!, good follies this time and I had my lap earlier this month that removed two paratubal cysts that could have been the problem. My DH always gets perfect scores on his numbers. And still a BFFN. Playing the what if game with myself too on going on vacation instead of staying home and doing the IUI. So much for "just relax and it will happen." I've been pulling 14 hour work days to cover for my boss while she's on her third fcking maternity leave in 4 years, the phleb used a GD horse needle to draw my beta this morning, and I'm on to my last cycle with clomid and IUI. Top it off with lots to get ready for to host a friend's baby shower in a few weeks. Just feeling sorry for myself today, I guess. Thanks for listening.

I am so sorry.  It is hard to understand why things don't work out when it seems like all the stars are aligned.  And it makes the BFN hurt because when things look good for a cycle we get our hopes up.

Don't beat yourself up about what you did this month...we never know the causes of why we don't get BFPs usually and we can't live our lives walking on eggshells.

I wish you didn't have to work 14 hour days.  From everything I've read and I'm sure you have too, stress really interferes with your fertility.  If you can't take a vacation, like you planned, or work fewer hours, can you find time for a yin yoga class or a massage on the weekend?  The Whole Foods I go to has $10 chair massages that are totally worth it.

I'm not saying all you need to do is " just relax and it will happen."  It takes more than just relaxing, as we all well know.  It takes alot of help from doctors, timing ovulation, good nutrition, and stress can be a factor in the baby making equation too.

I can not imagine how much it would suck to have a boss who has been on maternity leave three times in four years.  That has to be taking an emotional toll on you.  I'm thinking about talking to a therapist.  Maybe that would help you too.

Can you quit your job?  Maybe there is something else you've been wanting to do?

What made you decide to have the lap?  My RE wants me to have one to check for endo because I have irregular spotting.  How did your lap go?

I totally understand your frustration with the BFN after your cyst removal.  I am scheduling a hysteroscopy to remove polyps/scar tissue.  I am already getting my hopes up that I will conceive the same cycle as the hysteroscopy.  I know I will be crushed if it doesn't happen.

If your cyst removal fixed your problem, it might still only give you a 25% chance of conceiving each cycle.  So, maybe in three cycles or less you will have your BFP.

I hope your friend will be hosting your baby shower by the end of this year.  Hugs.

Hey! I love my job. It's just been busier than usual because I'm covering for my boss. It will go back to normal soon. I do attend yoga regularly. I had my lap done becuase of the cysts on my tubes. Extremely unlikely that they had a big part, if any, on my IF but it was good to get them out and look over everything else. I would think that if they scrape your uterine lining to remove polyps, it's not likely you could try that same cycle, but I hope it works out for you!

It's great to hear you love your job and practice yoga regularly.  :). Those are both wonderful for your well-being and fertility.

Knowing you had cysts on your tubes beforehand would certainly affect your decision to have a lap.  I completely understand now.

After the shg today, RE thinks its not polyps, but scar tissue on my uterine wall. What I don't understand is why do a surgery that is known to cause adhesions to remove adhesions.  Won't it do as much harm as good?  When I asked him if it would cause scarring he said no.  But the paperwork clearly states that it may.

You are correct. I will not be able to ttc in the same cycle.  I will have an IUD in for four weeks.  Boo :(
