Parenting after 35

Coming out of the dark/intro

DD is 4 weeks today and I am a zombie.  Please tell me it'll get better soon...ish?

I totally thought we might consider having #3 in 2 years but no way.  If any of you see me on TTC over 35 in the future please remind me about this post!!

Glad to be here though and so glad to see some of my fellow TTC over 35 and pregnant over 35 ladies.

This is the first time in a while I haven't had DD attached to my boob and I don't know what to do with myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Coming out of the dark/intro

  • The beginning is so rough, especially with a bad sleeper. I didn't want to try for a second until DS1 was 2 because he was such a crappy sleeper. DS2 has been, until this teething fiasco, an awesome sleeper so I've been like, 'yeah, let's try for a third!!!'

BTW, your DS1 is exactly 1 year older than mine.

  • Kat - i am right there with you in a zombie state!  Max won't latch good, so I am thankful for my double electric pump (right now we are still supplementing).  At least that way DH can share in the late night feedings.  And if you see me on TTC>35, please scold me, too!

  • It does get better, sooner than you think! OMG, the first 4 hour block of sleep was a freaking revelation!

And if you're anything like me, by the time you hit 6 mo., you will have completey wiped the pain and fatigue from your mental hard drive and your hormones will start screaming at you to get knocked up again. "No, really! It's not that bad! And see how big LO is getting?! Wouldn't it be great to have a teeny tiny little baby again!"

Do not listen to your hormones! Unless of course, you want to. ;) For us it was one and done, but man, my hormones really wanted to argue the point with me.
