Baby Excema

I know it's common.  Tell me what to do about it.  N has 2 patches of excema..one on each of her knees.  I've been using the Aveno Soothing Creme on her at night, and then in the morning when I get her dressed I put a little vasaline on it, but it's not getting any better.

Every winter I get it too...just tiny spots.  I have one on my leg, and one on my shoulder that are both about the size of a pencil eraser, so I know that she's predisposed to it.  I use a steroid cream on it and wouldn't use that on her.  I feel like this is a stupid thing to call the doc over.  Anyone else dealing with this too?

H has it bad. All over her body. The only thing that helps is cortizone every few days (all over her body) and then we do it twice a day on the rough patches. In the morning and at night we use a prescription cream called hydrolatum. She gets bathed using cetaphil - the restore version. I also run a humidifier all the time in her room.  

The combination of the above is the ONLY thing that gives her poor skin relief. It is terrible. If I miss any of these her skin goes back to bad. She is always a greasy mess.

I am interested to see the answers to this question. Corinne has some excema on her cheeks and the Aveeno cream is not working.

We use the Aveeno Excema all over and Aquaphor on the patches which are on his legs, arms and cheeks.  If it gets bad I soak him in the Aveeno Oatmeal bath for 15-20 minutes.

B has it pretty badly. Our Pedi recommended getting a jar of Aveeno (or any other unscented gentle lotion) and scooping some of it out--squeeze out a 30 ml tube of cortizone cream into it and mix it well. We apply it twice daily and try to with most diaper changes. It works very well!

Ds has a mild case too. We do Aveeno baby wash and the lotion and All Free Clear or 7th Generation for washing clothes. J J baby wash caused problems for him and the detergent caused problems for his cousin. Our ped has eczema too and recommended Aveeno, Cetraphil, or White Gold Bond as good starting points to help. Coconut oil has helped dd on the patches by her ears. Keep tinkering until you find the right combo.
