I don't think so... I am assuming Tris would have recognized her on the video. Maybe it is her grandma.... hmm.. Guess we have to wait until #3 comes out! Blast!!!!!!

Yeah I just thought of that as well! I googled it and people seem to think great-great grandma or something along that line! I am excited for book 3!

Me too. Plus when she is in that room that gaurd's Jeannine's stuff, it said she was 2nd generation. So if Edith Prior is her grandmother, Tris's dad would be first generation (born in this new society) that would make Tris 2nd generation.

I think Edith doesn't count as first generation because she wasn't born in the new society. Like think about immigrant to the US, their kids are first generation. Right? I think?

It's Tris's grandmother. She wasn't born into the society so she isn't any generation. Tris's mom was born into it so she's first generation to be born in the factions. Which makes Tris 2nd generation.
