My baby is 10 weeks old and she will not sleep in her crib at night. She falls asleep in my arms, on the couch, in her car seat, and swing, but will not stay down when I put her in her crib. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Are you putting her in when she is sleepy/awake/lightly sleeping or are you waiting for that magical deep sleep before you transfer her in? My LO loves to he held so we always transfer him when he is out. Really out.
DH and I are trying to get our LO used to the crib early, and I don't know if shes just spoiling us or if this process just works. But we get her to the point she is asleep in her arms and lower into the crib and we make slow shh sounds. We start them frequent and a not quiet and then slowly taper to a random very quiet shh till shes out and not fussing. So far she seems to go down on the first try and we get her down for 3-4 hours at a time, granted shes only a week and 3 days.
We have this problem too. Our LO is 6wks old and when we lay her in her PnP at night, even if she's completely out, she'll wake up in 5-10 minutes and need to be rocked back to sleep. This repeats twice sometimes three times.
The past few nights, she's been sleeping in her bouncy seat because she has RSV and the doctor suggested having her sleep in that to help with the cough. She falls asleep without trouble in her bouncy.
I'm afraid for when we put her back in her PnP. My Mom suggested warming her bed with a heating pad before we put her in it (take the heating pad out before laying her down). I'm going to give that a shot ...

As to pp's heating pad mention:
In the beginning I always heated the pnp up with a heating pad. It really helps the transition from your arms to the crib. Think about when you first get in bed, its always a bit cool until your body heat warms it. Between a warm bed and a good swaddle, she would sleep in the pnp and eventually I didn't warm it anymore and she transitions easily to the crib. Oh and clearly don't make it TOO warm....

Do you only use the crib for night sleeping? If so try using it or some naps too. We had our DS in his crib after a week of being home so I can't really relate but I would suggest increasing the exposure to the crib as a pace to sleep. Good luck.
We put DS in his crib this past week and so far so good, but don't underestimate the power of a good swaddle. We didn't swaddle our first DS much and he was a terrible sleeper unless he was being held. With this one I've noticed he sleeps much more soundly when swaddled compared to if I just lay him down.

this! I think you really need to try to get your LO in the crib for at least a nap during the day. that's how I have done it and she has been sleeping in the crib at night. she isn't the greatest sleeper, though, so I don't get a long time out of her sleeping in the crib.
