First time OPK

Hello again guys. I bought those wondfo opk strips from amazon and am using them for my first cycle after the loss (I'm at CD 17 if you count the MC as day 1). I never used them before but I just wanted to know if I'm ovulating this first cycle because we want to start TTC after my first AF (despite conflicting suggestions and research). I got a clear positive this morning (not FMU but still before 9am). The last one I took was yesterday morning, negative, and then I took one around 2 and that was dark but still negative. I was wondering what people's experience is with this and if it's possible that I would've gotten my first positive last night? It seems like a very quick luteal surge. I have had a lot of EWCM for the last 5 days and my temping hasn't shown anything yet but this is also my first cycle temping so, I don't know what to expect. Any insight into luteal surges would be welcome. Or anyone whose cycle went back to normal this quickly after a natural MC? Crossing my fingers for AF in 2 weeks so we can reset and put this nightmare behind us.

I strongly advise you to follow your doctors orders about ttc.

That being said, were your hcg levels followed to 0? Hcg will turn opks positive, and I would imagine as hcg decreases so would the opk line.

I took one last week that was strongly positive from leftover HCG. I was down to 45 last Tuesday (from 3800 the Monday before) and then the opks that I've been taking once a day have been negative so, no, it's not leftover HCG. And as far as advice, the OB standardly says 3 cycles without any medical reason. The CNM says 1 cycle, a nurse said 2 cycles or 1 if we're emotionally ready, a DR friend says 1. It's not like the one OB gave me advice specific to me or for any reason. It's what she tells everyone.
