We actually have ID twin boys thanks to IVF. Transferred 3 embryos and 1 stuck and divided.
MFI and (now) AMA IVF 1 April 2011 - Cancelled IVF 1.5 July 2011 - MC IVF 2 October 2011 - BFP! *Identical Twin Boys born June 2012* Here we go again...IVF 3 is underway!
Just to add a little diversity to the mix, we transferred 2 on day 5 and got BBB triplets (2ID).
PAIFW/SAIFW
DS1 born July 2002 (previous marriage).
TTC since Oct 08. DH Dx w/testicular cancer March 09. MFI due to retrograde ejaculation/azoospermia. 5/2 IVF #1 cancelled due to large follie. 6/14 start Lupron for IVF #1.2. 6/22 start stims. 7/4 ER and Biopsy. 7/9 Transferred 2 (1-4BB and 1-3BB) embryos. 4 frosties. 7/15 +HPT 6dp5dt. 7/18 Beta #1: 193. 7/20 Beta #2: 415. 8/10 1st u/s - It's triplets!
Three TI cycles (BFP...miscarriage), five IUI attempts and 2.5 IVF cycles later...BFP!!
12dp5dt: 765; 15dp5dt: 1979; 17dp5dt: 3379...TWINS!!!!!
Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!
Does doing IVF really have any effect on what gender the babies are?
i've heard that it can...especially if you freeze the embryos. btw i have b/g twins. good luck!
This makes no sense to me. Sex is determined by the sperm. It's either X or Y. So when the egg (X) is fertilized, it becomes XX (girl) or XY (boy). So by the time the embryo is frozen it is already either a boy or a girl. Freezing will not change the sex. Each embryo has a 50/50 chance... nothing changes that.
I have b/b fraternals as a result of IVF with ICSI and a 5dt
This exactly except G/G fraternals...
Same here, fraternal girls. Unless an IVF cycle results in identicals, which I have heard the chance of that is slightly higher, I'm not sure why IVF would influence genders.
I'm just lurking (still waiting on first u/s) but there are several factors at play here. The basic summary is that blastocyst transfers tend to lean heavily toward boys and FETs and ICSI lean more toward girls.
Can't read the studies as I'm on mobile and the links aren't clicky, but FWIW, I've done two fresh 5 day blast transfers, each time we transferred two embryos. Three girls and one boy.

Ditto exactly, except I'm having girls instead of boys.
ETA: I did a 6d frozen transfer.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
This exactly except G/G fraternals...
Olivia and Matilda, 09/10/201 - Graham, 10/01/2013
IVF with ICSI fresh cycle (5dt) with two embryos - one boy.
FET - b/g
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!

this exactly
G/G Identical twins after 3dt of 2 fresh embryos, 1 stuck and split
This scenario is surprisingly common in this thread!
1st & Only BFP: 1st IVF w/ ICSI, 3dt of 2 7-cell, grade 2 embryos on 8/25/12
Beta #1 9/5: 87.2 BFP! - Beta #2 9/7: 248 - 1st US @ 6w3d Two Heartbeats! - MoDi Girls!
I am surprised by how many ID twins are from IVF. My RE said the IVF had nothing to do with it and statistically the ID twin rate hasn't risen?
I did a 5dt of one embryo and have g/g ID twins.

This is from 2007 but my RE told me it holds true today: https://www.rmany.com/pdf/blastocystembryotransfer.pdf
And another study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18718582

Good luck at your upcoming ultrasound.
DX: DOR & major hormone imbalances; DH low motility
4 Clomid cycles + Trigger = BFN
2 Femara cycles + Trigger + IUI = BFN
IVF 7R,5F; ET cancelled - high P4; Froze 3
FET transferred 2 beautiful embies!
Beta #1 - 2,353! Beta #2 - 5,000! It's TWINS!
