Is there something wrong?

Liam is not as happy of a baby as he used to be. He whines a lot!

I just guessed it was from the magic id 30 min napping but now in curious. We had like a two hour nap yesterday and he woke up and was just grumpy! if you lay him on his back he's pissed, he gets hysterical and hates it.

you can give him a toy and he's happy for .2 seconds. I don't know what to do :/

I miss when he was happy all the time. Is it normal for him to be just a grump?

    Some babies start to get angry around this age. They get frustrated that they want something and get it, like a toy that's out of reach. Nora wants to sit up so badly but shenbsp; just can't yet and gets mad on her back.

    ah. Liam has been sitting up for like 2 months. he just acts like he is tired and irritated or something even when he's sitting up. he is NEVER just perfectly content I feel like.

    Has he recently had a cold or anything? Harrison went though something similar where he had a cold, and then suddenly was fussy ALL the time, had trouble sleeping and wasn't eating as much. Turned out it was an ear infection. He couldn't sleep because laying flat caused pressure to build up in his ears, and it hurt when he sucked so that's why he was eating less...could that be it? He was a real GRUMP and is normally SO happy.nbsp;

    maybe? but no fever or anything. he isn't acting weird otherwise

    Maybe he's frustrated at another milestone? They are getting more and more active but don't always the ability to actually do what they want yet.

    yeah it's been like this for a couple weeks. maybe he's mad he can't move around.. idk. he always just seems so tired but won't sleep enough. I always think he'd be happier if he could crawl

    Yep! The WWs last longer the older they get. Apparently they can last a month or two!

    Here's the info I got from my last WW email for 26w:

    It?s time for your baby to make the fifth leap in his mental development!

    In, On, Behind, and For How Long?
    After this leap, your baby will start to perceive the relationships, including distance, between the things that make up his world. Suddenly, his world is a very, very big place and he is a very small part. It also includes simple things like the distance or the juxtaposition between things and the placement of things in relation to each other: something can be inside, outside, on top of, next to, underneath or in between something else, and your baby will play with these notions. Maybe your baby suddenly cries if you go a little further from him. This is very normal. Your baby now understands that the distance between you and him increases!

    Examples of what your baby?s skills and interests may be after going through this leap:

    • He is interested in people who ?act differently? as compared with normal?;
    • Has an immense interest in details such as zippers, labels or stickers;
    • Lifts things up to see if anything is below;
    • Tries to untie laces;
    • Throws something to see the content;
    • Puts food in the mouth of others;
    • Makes connections between words and deeds;
    • Blows air;
    • Protests as dad or mom walk away;
    • Imitates sounds with his tongue;
    • He is standing up with a little help or pulls himself to an upward position

    This leap alarm email is only to inform you that your baby is at the point of making a new leap. In the chapter about this leap you can read exactly:

    • What to expect during this leap
    • How you can help your baby during the fussy phase
    • How to stimulate your baby and help him master the skills of the world of Relationships

    Please do not forget that you are really able to help your child through this leap once you understand what is going on inside your babies head!

    This makes a lot of sense. Lily has been getting pissed off easier lately. And while she's nursing she'll stop every 30 seconds to sit up, then lies back down to eat. It's like she needs to make sure she can still do these little things.

    you said he's sitting, right? H burps more now that he sits up regularly. I think it's the function of being in that position.

    Ahh yep.

  • Teething?

    Hunter cut two teeth in a week.  He has been a hot mess, and not my happy, smily baby.  At night he is at his worst, and even though he is exhausted he fights me to go to sleep.  He has been screaming at the top of his lungs and arching his back, until I can calm him down.

    It sucks.  Hope they get through this "meltdowns phase" soon!

  • We're going through the whining grump stuff too. I think he's wanting to crawl and is frustrated. Pretty normal, but annoying.
