Any suggestion/tips on the transition? My son is 23 months. He has never climbed out of his crib but jumps in his crib. I have given him time to explore his new room. I have put his favorite blanket on his bed. We tried it tonight and he fell asleep for about 20 minutes and then got out of the bed and was banging on the door crying. When I went up to put him back he screamed and stood up. TIA!
What happens if you ignore the knocking and treat it like CIO? Are you opposed to that? We transistioned my son earlier this month at around 29 months and although sometimes he fights going down he has done really well. I treat his room like a crib though, meaning although he can get out of his bed he can't get out of his room. He's not capable of opening doors yet. Sometimes he chooses to get out of bed but after a bit of fussing he'll go back to his bed and go to sleep.
