uterus size with twins and tipped ute early movement?

I an curious to know the size/ location of the uterus while pregnant with twins. Will it be higher up sooner than those carrying singletons? Also, what if your ute is tipped?

When I had my appt today my doc was pressing a tid bit below my belly button and said right where its supposed to be.

My second question is how early did you feel movement? I've been feeling flutters in my abdomen and its very low. I know its not gas and is similar to what I've felt with my previous two pregnanices. I felt DS at 14.5 weeks. I'm wondering if this could be due to my ute being tipped or what. I know that things happen quicker qith each pregnancy after your first and this has held true with my first two and seems to be going the same with this one.

ETA: Sorry for the poor formatting. I am feeling so scattered brained right now.

ETA to the ETA: Fraternal twins, two placentas

Re: uterus size with twins and tipped ute early movement?

  • My ute isn't tipped so I can't really help that much with that part but I only started to feel definitive movement at 18 weeks and was only able to distinguish between the two babies at 22 weeks. I *may* have felt flutters at 16 weeks but if I wasn't laying absolutely still I would have never noticed anything.

I would assume that growing two babies (and potentially two placentas) that your ute would stretch much more quickly. After the bloat subsided I was able to really see a "bump" at 15 weeks, it hasn't stopped since! At 24 weeks I was told I'm measuring 30-32 weeks. Now I actually am 30 weeks and I can only imagine how big I'm measuring now. I'll find out tomorrow! HTH some :)

  • I read that with twins you typically measure 6-8 weeks ahead of singleton pregnancies. I have no idea what I'm measuring. I hope to find out at my appointment next week.

  • Since 18w the doctor measures me at every appt. and I've always been 6 to 8 weeks ahead. Your uterus does get bigger much faster than with a singleton. At 20w with a singleton the top of your uterus should be around your belly button, mine was there around 13 or 14 weeks.

Frankly, this was a hard adjustment for me as I realized how much bigger I was than with my singleton pregnancy, but I've gotten over it.

I felt these two around 15 or 16 weeks and could tell who was kicking me around 22 weeks. 14w is early, but I'm sure it's possible.

  • I am having twins and I am tipped ute. I'm at 11 weeks and my ute is just now starting to really be over my pelvic bone (at 10 I could feel the first mini hard spot above my bone... I'm fluffy so hard isn't part of my tummy lol). My DH likes to feel it now because he's SO EXCITED.

I'm not sure if I'm up the week sooner because of twins or tipped ute. also I'm not sure if my ute is even fully moved up yet

This has been true for me. I always thought that 11.5 wks was too early to feel movement, but I am by no means the expert. I felt flutters with DS at 17 wks and I started to feel the twins around the same time.

  • I'm 14 weeks and just got measured yesterday.  My uterus is just below my belly button which my OB said is right on track.  I have no idea about the movement though, this is my first pregnancy.  I will say I've felt nothing yet.  The nurse was pretty confident it would happen by 18-20 weeks though.

  • I was just measured on Monday and at 16 weeks I measured 20. My Dr. said four weeks ahead was good and normal.  I have a little extra padding so I couldn't tell, but Dr. felt it right away.

I think I have started to feel some movement this week. I get they flutter feeling every now and again.  Not consistent or anything but definitely there.

  • No one is feeling fetal movement at 11-14 weeks.Twins, Quads etc....just not happening. It also doesnt matter if you have had a child before, it doesnt make your fetus have super strength.

You dont need to be believe it is gas, it doesnt matter... but it still isnt the baby.

I had more spotting and my doc wanted to see me right away this morning and did a quick scan (no in depth measurments) and everything is fine but when he was checking my ute location (I asked him to be sure it was indeed just under my belly button) he felt a little kick as he called it. He said the babies are right in the front of my ute right now and thats making it possible for me to feel these random movements. They are not by any means a daily thing but I do notice them. He said they'll change position and the feeling may go away.

I guess I do have a super ute lol ::eye roll::

  • I am twelve weeks six days. I had an appointment on Wednesday and the doctor said I was measuring at twenty weeks.  I have not felt movement yet.  I am a first time mom so I am not really sure what it feels like.
